The following are resources for distinct and unusual football helmets,
uniforms, and histories for teams of the Southwest Conference.

These are tear-away authentic game used jerseys from my collection.
Remember the cheap, t-shirt type tear-away jerseys from the 1970s-early 80s?

Eric Dickerson's tear-away jersey from 1982

Houston's Herring's tear-away, full tear away with front rip, from 1981

Texas' A.J. "Jam" Jones partial tear-away jersey

Note that in several cases, many of the conference champions were actually co-champions, but all won the "head-to-head" games versus the other conference co-champions and thusly were the representative for the conference in the Cotton Bowl. In 1994, Texas Tech won the co-championship because Texas A&M was on probation and ineligible for a bowl game, and Texas Tech had never been to the Cotton Bowl.
